The inspiration for this film is a joke I heard many years ago. In the joke, a woman is attracted to a man she sees half a block away. By the time they are passing one another, she is demanding the return of her stereo!
I relate to this. I am discouraged by my tendency to believe my self-centered, but frequently unfounded, fears. I don’t think I am the only one who can take a polite “How are you today?” and turn it into paranoia worthy of Humphrey Bogart’s Captain Queeg in THE CAINE MUTINY. I made this film to remind myself and others not to confuse our inner monologues with reality. A mind is a terrible thing to close.
